Cynthia Nolan I have always been appreciative of the arts, As a child I became interested in dance and music. From ballet lessons as a child, to the classical music my mother introduced me to at an early age I loved it all. I was always awed at the paintings and drawings of the Great Masters. I am also a fan of the Impressionist Painters as well. I had never sketched or painted in my life up until 3 years ago. I began sketching one day for amusement, and I found I liked it. I purchased oil paints and some canvases and tried my skills as a painter, and found that I really liked painting more. I have been painting and teaching myself ever since. I am not a traditional art school trained painter, but self taught. I try to paint what I see and at the same time reflect the personality of the subject in my work.
